DEP Conference 2023 is centered around the intersection of policy, ethics, and data science in empowering communities. We will bring together thought leaders from academia, industry, government, and community organizations to address complex ethical questions arising from the use of the expanding methods of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and how it affects various communities.
As the technical voice in the room, what can we do to promote and uphold the interests of the community? What ethical frameworks should we consider when applying data science in novel ways to policy? Join us for a closing conversation with Moon Duchin to discuss how injecting data science further upstream in policymaking can lead to more effective solutions, the ethics of working among stakeholders with competing interests, and the challenges of translating quantitative analysis into approaches that prioritize the needs of the community.
